my summary: This article talked about a study done by the international society  of sports. the study took marathon runners that were vegan or vegetarian and compared their health to marathon runners who were not vegan or vegetarian. The study found that people who are vegetarians or vegans have a higher QOL (quality of life), being a vegetarian or vegan also makes people more health conscious, and the vegetarian diet positively affects exercise and performance, creates resilience against chronic diseases.

my summary: In this article they studied the Gut Microbiota and Immune Repertoire  of a person on a vegetarian diet for 3 months. They found that short term vegetarian diets did not have any major effects on the diversity of the immune system, and the duration of the diet may affect the balance of pro anti inflammatory factors in the gut mitochondria and immune system.

my summary: My overall take away from this article was that there are many different acids and proteins that you are not getting from the vegetarian diet (even when you are eating lots of vegetables) that put you at risk for mental disorders like depression.

my summary: In this article it explained how there are two types of vegetarian, ones that eat lots of vegetables and ones who eat lots of fake chicken. this article warns people who want to become a vegetarian of the wrong way to be a vegetarian. I highly recommend this article for anyone considering because a vegetarian.

my summary: this article addressed some myths or assumptions that went along with the vegetarian diet. Most people believe that people on vegetarian or meat free diets have a low amount of protein, zinic, iron, vitamin b12, and omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty-acid. They talked about how well planned out vegetarian diets can easily meet all of these requirements.and When you are not eating meat you can just replace all the meet protein you were getting with plant protein which in much better for you and it reduces your risk of chronic disease like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

It says that the vegetarian diet is very popular in teens and continuing to grow. 81% of these teens are female. It also states that this is concerning parents and sports coaches, but vegetarianism in teens is not linked to any eating disorders.
